Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks
Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. If Roguelike, Arcade, Pixel is your thing, Vampire Survivors delivers it without much filler. On paper it is The $5 bullet-heaven that ate everyone's evenings., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. I will be back for another run.

I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed
I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. Vampire Survivors wears its Roguelike, Arcade, Pixel influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — The $5 bullet-heaven that ate everyone's evenings. — is delivered without too much filler. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. I will be back for another run.
