Privacy & Cookie Policy
PlayPulse is a ranking community for players. We keep data to the minimum needed to run the site, and we never sell personal data or build advertising profiles.
1. Cookies
A cookie is a small text file a site asks your browser to store. We use two kinds: strictly necessary ones, which the site cannot work without, and optional ones, which only run if you agree.
Strictly necessary (always on — no consent required)
These keep you signed in, protect forms against spam, apply rate limits and remember your consent choice. They cannot be switched off because the site would stop working.
Cookies: pp_session (sign-in session), pp_csrf (form protection),
pp_consent (your cookie choice).
Analytics (optional)
Anonymous page views and feature usage, first-party only. No cross-site tracking, no third-party advertising network, no identifiable profile. Load only after you accept.
Marketing (optional)
Used to measure studio campaigns and sponsored placements. Never shared or sold to third parties. Load only after you accept.
How to control your choice
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer, or the shield button in the bottom-left corner. Changing your mind is exactly as easy as making the original choice. Your decision is stored for 6 months, after which we ask again.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in.
2. Proof of consent
When you make a choice we store a record with the categories you selected, when you chose, how you chose, and a hashed fingerprint. We store no IP address in plain text. This record exists so we can demonstrate that any optional tracking was properly authorised, as required by GDPR Article 7(1). Records are deleted after 24 months.
3. Account data
If you sign in we store your email address, nickname, avatar and the posts, comments, ratings and reviews you publish. You can request deletion of your account and its contents at any time.
4. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export and erase your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Write to us and we will respond within 30 days.
5. Children
PlayPulse is not directed at anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and, where the change affects optional cookies, ask you again before anything new loads.
