Valorant is 5v5 tactical shooting with hero abilities — CS-style gunplay where a well-timed wall or flash wins the round.
Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. Valorant leans hard into Shooter, Tactics, Multiplayer, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. The pitch — Precise gunplay meets hero abilities in Riot's tactical shooter. — is delivered without too much filler. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Worth it, especially on sale.
It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. The Shooter, Tactics, Multiplayer mix is what kept me playing; Valorant knows what it wants to be. On paper it is Precise gunplay meets hero abilities in Riot's tactical shooter., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. I will be back for another run.
