It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. Fields of Mistria leans hard into RPG, Sim, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. The pitch — Start your new life! Build the farm of your dreams as you discover a world — is delivered without too much filler. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. I will be back for another run.

This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. Fields of Mistria leans hard into RPG, Sim, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. It helps that the premise (Start your new life! Build the farm of your dreams as you discover a world) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Worth it, especially on sale.
