Highly kinematic tactical gameplay using varied weapons such as the flechette shotgun, silenced 10mm pistol, radiation emitter, dart gun, corrosive gas launcher and more.. . No handholding!. . All of the missions have multiple viable approaches and routes. Plan out your equipment loadout to gain a tactical advantage. Choose between non-lethal and lethal options. Throw toilet bowls at enemies.. . Fight and sneak through offices, suburbs, police stations and secret compounds. Find and unlock hidden equipment and levels.. . Open objective based gameplay, in each mission your goal is to kill or destroy your targets before heading for the exit.. . Revisit earlier missions and try to beat your best time. Can you S-rank all of the missions?

There is a good game buried in here somewhere
There is a good game buried in here somewhere. Fans of Action, Sim will recognise the pieces, though Cruelty Squad never quite assembles them. The idea (An immersive power fantasy simulator with tactical stealth elements set in a) is there, but the execution never catches up to it. Too many systems are introduced and then abandoned. There is more content here than the price suggests. Try before you buy.

I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. Cruelty Squad wears its Action, Sim influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — An immersive power fantasy simulator with tactical stealth elements set in a — is delivered without too much filler. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. There is more content here than the price suggests. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
