This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. Half-Life: Alyx wears its Action, Story, Adventure influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — The VR masterpiece that justified the headset. — is delivered without too much filler. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. Worth it, especially on sale.
