About Beyond The Wire

Beyond The Wire is a large-scale multiplayer first-person shooter immersing players in the frantic and bloody Western Front of the Great War. EDIT (13/01/2021): the real problem of this game right now is the low player base

EDIT (13/01/2021): the real problem of this game right now is the low player base. Despite recent Steam Sales, I see no grow of daily players on this game. Very sad! Yes, it's still an early access but I really hope this is going to be better with next updates or sales. I'M REVIEWING THE GAME AT EARLY ACCESS RELEASE The game is overall good, obviously it's just released so it can be improved. I didn't play Post Scriptum and Squad, but I played others "realistic" games such as Hell Let Loose AND I played this game during Alpha's test. Sound: it's incredible, I really can't complain on this front. Even the soundtrack it's beautiful and perfect for the game. Congrats to the composer Scott Tobin. Graphics: it seems like Squad and PS and I think it's good for an indie FPS (it's better than Verdun, for example). The explosions are incredible, I've never seen so much detail on them. Animation: still clunky, but I think they're going to improve. Gameplay: it's a fast paced FPS, but not like COD (this clarification is for casual players). I really liked the fact that it's difficult to aim properly in this game and that it enforces you to go to use melee weapons. At the moment you're probably going to play this game primarily in trenches, if possible, exactly because of the focus on melee combat. Do I recommend this game? Yes, but no. I think that 30 euros (or 35 dollars) are at the moment 10 euros higher for what I would pay at this status quo, but I think they're going to be worth 2 years from now. PS: This is my first long review in English (it's not my native language): I hope that I've been understandable. Thank you for reading.
