I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. The Sim mix is what kept me playing; Aviassembly knows what it wants to be. On paper it is Build and fly your own airplane! Complete missions to earn money, upgrade your, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. If Sim is your thing, Aviassembly delivers it without much filler. It helps that the premise (Build and fly your own airplane! Complete missions to earn money, upgrade your) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. Easy recommend at full price.
