Going to try and keep this one simple
Going to try and keep this one simple. -If you liked N64-era Rare Ltd. games (Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Donkey Kong 64) then you will most likely enjoy Yooka-Laylee -If you did not enjoy N64-era Rare Ltd. games then you will most likely not enjoy Yooka-Laylee. -If you enjoyed those N64-era Rare Ltd games but haven't experienced those 3D collectathon nuances in 15-20 years since they released then you will most likely be in for bumpy start and not care for Yooka-Laylee. -This game was pitched as a 90s-era collectathon and an authentic 90s-era collectathon was delivered. There is no argument around this. Folks who are negative towards some of the gameplay design choices need to keep the original pitch in mind. The good and bad of 90s-era collectathon platformers is here. That’s what was pitched. That’s what was delivered. Plain and simple.

I love this game
I love this game. I miss cartoony 3D platformers like this. I don't get all the dislike for this. My only regret is that I didn't hold out for the Switch version to play it on the go. Curse you Steam Sale!!! But in all serious, if, like me you miss the fun, lighthearted 3D collect a thon, platformers, do not pass this up.
