Let me preface this by saying I have played The New Order, The Old Blood, and The New Colossus and thoroughly enjoyed all three games. The story is intensely immersive and one can get lost in the world of Wolfenstein very quickly. Now...onto Youngblood. To say that I was hyped for another installment would be a gross understatement. I wanted to see the continuation of the story and was pumped for the new guns and fresh enemies. Needless to say the luster dulled up quick. PROS: --Superb gunplay as expected, some of the best in the FPS genre. --Visually stunning game. --Fun continuation of the main storyline. --Customization of weapons is improved. CONS: --Jess & Soph are extremely obnoxious protagonists and very unlikable. --Levels are confusing and you can get lost in them VERY fast. --Replayed levels over and over instead of new ones. Same level, just a different objective...yikes. --Enemies respawn in areas that you've already cleared. --Enemy strength/level system immediately negates any well placed headshot or familiar tactic. --Microtransactions in a single-player game....JUST WHY? --Main antagonists are generally uninspiring. --Lack of BJ, the whole reason you play the game. You want to be Terror Billy! BOTTOM LINE: The rebooted Wolfenstein franchise has been an absolute grand slam in my opinion. A series that has flown under the radar when compared to other juggernauts in the FPS scene. Youngblood is a tragic misfire. I feel it was a rushed spinoff type game that really never felt like a true sequel. It's generally very frustrating to play and I hate to say it...but a complete waste of money. Here's to hoping that Wolfenstein III picks up where The New Colossus left off.

The first 2 games in the series were awesome

The first 2 games in the series were awesome. The direction they went with this installment is absolutely vile. Unnecessary grind padding so the game is longer than it actually is. Enemies have health bars effectively making them RPG damage sponges. Characters are shallow stereotypes with no interesting qualities whereas BJ is a pretty fleshed out character. Bad game design, low amount of content, cringe voice acting. In game store??? Game is just wack all around. The Wolfenstein minigame inside the game is better than the actual game.

This game has been marketed as Wolfenstein with a friend

This game has been marketed as Wolfenstein with a friend. Why not just make that? Look at the screenshots and videos. Beautiful graphics, tight controls, satisfying gory combat with a friend. It's simple but looks like great fun. But instead, enemies have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RPG floating health bars. Some basic common enemies are so bullet spongey they take multiple mags to bring down while you kite them around. Bosses are the same story but on steroids. On top of that, you can only do missions that you're the right level for, otherwise if you try to progress beyond a certain point the enemies will be absurdly strong and one shot you. One bullet will take you from max health to zero. And they're not special enemies or anything, they're the same grunts you've been killing already but with a skull by their health bar. Why add RPG / looter shooter mechanics into an excellent fps game? Just why?
