I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed
I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. The Action mix is what kept me playing; Witchfire knows what it wants to be. On paper it is Witchfire is a first-person dark fantasy RPG shooter in which you play as a, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. There is more content here than the price suggests. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.

A friend recommended it and I owe them one. Witchfire leans hard into Action, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. It helps that the premise (Witchfire is a first-person dark fantasy RPG shooter in which you play as a) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Easy recommend at full price.
