6About UnEpic
More from @unepic_fran. . About the Game. Daniel was just an average guy. He was a great videogame player, a big fan of sci-fi movies, and a novice RPG player. In the midst of an RPG, he was teleported to a castle. At first, Daniel believed that he was having a massive hallucination. Eager to keep playing within the RPG to create his own adventure, he decides to go along for te ride until his delirium comes to an end. Once inside the castle, Daniel is inhabited by a mysterious shadow. This dark spirit can communicate with Daniel, but not control him. The shadow has a simple goal: to escape from the prison of Daniel's body. There's a catch, though-- the dark spirit can only escape if Daniel perishes. Struggling against enemies in the castle, with the dark spirit attempting to murder him at every turn. Daniel finally discovers his goal: to kill Harnakon, the master of the castle, and free the Pure-Spirits who are trapped within. While the stage seems set for a typical role-playing adventure, Daniel will soon discover that everything is not what it seems... RPG 2D platform game . 200 rooms to explore . 7 bosses to kill . 70 spells to learn . 100 different weapons . More than 2000

"Wow, that end is really cool!"
"Wow, that end is really cool!" UnEpic delivers 100%: combining modern "nerd game" parodies with a metroidvania like gameplay. Here are some keywords if you are considering to buy it: - Castlevania kinda game - Lots of gear, spells and weapon upgrades - Very difficult game, it will challenge you and force you to use the skills in order to complete the game (played on hard+) - Original and funny, they use alot of parodies from star wars, star craft, world of warcraft and even DBZ. - Quests are hard but rewarding - Completing it 100% was fun and not a drag - 30+ hours to complete single player and there is even a multiplayer with unique maps - Unique graphics: well polished graphics which fits the theme of the game (the store page pics don't give it credit). An important point which is important to know if you want to play this game: go a range (frost/fire) kind of build, melee really is ♥♥♥♥ end game and you need range in order to complete the game (it will be hell if you don't since you can only respecc once in the game). CONCLUSION I didn't like the looks of the game in the store page pictures... but DAMM I was wrong. I enjoyed the trail and error parts and it forced you to play better and make no mistakes. For an indie game they did one HELL OF A JOB. I would strongly recommend this game for anyone who likes the keywords mentioned earlier.

Contradicting its title, Unepic is an epic 2D side-scrolling RPG with a touch of platforming elements
Contradicting its title, Unepic is an epic 2D side-scrolling RPG with a touch of platforming elements. You play as Daniel, who gets teleported into a mysterious castle during a pen-and-paper RPG session with his friends. Soon enough, Daniel finds himself possessed by a sinister entity who unvoluntarily becomes his guide throughout the journey. At first, Daniel believes that this whole mishap is just a hallucination and acts as if he was playing a video game, which leads to genuinely amusing dialogues filled with pop culture refferences (World of Warcraft, Star Trek, Star Wars etc). But well-written dialogues is just one of Unepic's positives. The locations are distinguishable enough from each other and, if you like 2D graphic, visually pleasing. Definitelly not what you'd call "monotonous". Controls feel just right most of the time, with just a few design flaws (for example taking damage cancels your targeting, which can get annoying in some situations). The game's difficulty is fairly ballanced. You can play on Easy, Normal, Hard or Hard++ and whichever difficulty you choose, you'll get more or less what you expect. Easy is super-easy. Normal and Hard are the well ballanced "middle course". Hard++ gets more serious. Unlike many other games out there, Unepic also managed to find a good compromise with providing information to the player. They do a good job of explaining what's what at the early stage, but you don't get the feeling that they're holding your hand. Another thing that deserves to be mentioned is the voice acting. All the voice actors did an excellent job. All in all, Unepic is an incredibly well done indie game, definitelly worth playing :)
