This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday
This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. The Universim leans hard into Sim, Strategy, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. On paper it is Guide a civilization from the Stone Age to the Space Age in a city-building god, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Easy recommend at full price.

I wanted to love this, but it never quite got its hooks into me
I wanted to love this, but it never quite got its hooks into me. The Universim promises a lot with its Sim, Strategy setup, but the loop wore thin quickly. What it promises (Guide a civilization from the Stone Age to the Space Age in a city-building god) is more interesting than what it actually does moment to moment. It asks for a lot of grinding before the interesting parts show up. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Not for everyone, and not for me.
