This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. If RPG, Action, Story is your thing, The Outer Worlds 2 delivers it without much filler. It helps that the premise (Corporate space satire, bigger and sharper this time.) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.

It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. The RPG, Action, Story mix is what kept me playing; The Outer Worlds 2 knows what it wants to be. On paper it is Corporate space satire, bigger and sharper this time., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. I will be back for another run.
