Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks
Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. The Action, Multiplayer, Co-op mix is what kept me playing; The Darkness II knows what it wants to be. On paper it is An intense first person shooter that delivers a twisted and gripping narrative, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. There is more content here than the price suggests. I will be back for another run.

I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. The Action, Multiplayer, Co-op mix is what kept me playing; The Darkness II knows what it wants to be. On paper it is An intense first person shooter that delivers a twisted and gripping narrative, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. I will be back for another run.
