This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. Starship Troopers: Extermination wears its Action, Multiplayer, Co-op influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. It helps that the premise (Starship Troopers: Extermination is an up to 16-player co-op FPS that puts you) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
I wanted to love this, but it never quite got its hooks into me. The Action, Multiplayer, Co-op side of Starship Troopers: Extermination is fine on paper, but the execution felt thin after the first few hours. The idea (Starship Troopers: Extermination is an up to 16-player co-op FPS that puts you) is there, but the execution never catches up to it. The pacing sags in the middle third and never fully recovers. There is more content here than the price suggests. Try before you buy.
