This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. If Action, Adventure, Cozy is your thing, SMITE 2 delivers it without much filler. It helps that the premise (Become a god and wage war in SMITE 2, the free-to-play Unreal Engine 5-powered) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.

It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. If Action, Adventure, Cozy is your thing, SMITE 2 delivers it without much filler. On paper it is Become a god and wage war in SMITE 2, the free-to-play Unreal Engine 5-powered, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. Worth it, especially on sale.

Not a bad game, just not one I can recommend without caveats. SMITE 2 promises a lot with its Action, Adventure, Cozy setup, but the loop wore thin quickly. The idea (Become a god and wage war in SMITE 2, the free-to-play Unreal Engine 5-powered) is there, but the execution never catches up to it. Too many systems are introduced and then abandoned. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. Try before you buy.
