I don't really love survival games, I love this game. I'm a quadriplegic so I use a control and before I bought the game I was a little concerned because building with a control can be daunting to say the least. I was very pleasantly surprised at how intuitive and easy it is to build. The moment I got in the graphics were quite beautiful, kind of reminds me of breath of the wild. I've never played RuneScape so I was starting brand new and it's been a very fun experience the tutorials are easy and are very helpful. Overall I really enjoy this as a pickup and play cozy style game with a little bit of story direction and good combat. the only negatives I have so far is that I don't really enjoy clicking the right thumbstick to change between storage and your personal storage but that's probably a personal thing. the second negative is that the bow and the dagger don't feel that great hopefully those get fleshed out better or get stronger in late game.
I've poured countless hours into games like Valheim and Enshrouded, and this holds up to both of them. Valheim has better base building, and Enshrouded has better questing, but this nicely sits in a middle ground between the two. The game's biggest draw for me: Inventory management and general QOL. For example. they introduced an item (Storage Ledger) that you can craft that will automatically put any items in your inventory into a chest, providing you have a stack of it already. A crafting game where you don't spend HOURS putting stuff away in chests? Yes please. The devs are also very active on Reddit and actually listen to, and implement suggestions. Very refreshing. If you're burned out by Valheim or Enshrouded, this is your next game.
