It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. Retail Royale wears its Action, MMO, Strategy influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — A chaotic Battle Royale inside a furniture store where everything is a weapon. — is delivered without too much filler. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. Worth it, especially on sale.

A friend recommended it and I owe them one. If Action, MMO, Strategy is your thing, Retail Royale delivers it without much filler. On paper it is A chaotic Battle Royale inside a furniture store where everything is a weapon., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. I will be back for another run.

This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. The Action, MMO, Strategy mix is what kept me playing; Retail Royale knows what it wants to be. On paper it is A chaotic Battle Royale inside a furniture store where everything is a weapon., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Worth it, especially on sale.
