The ultimate test of trust and betrayal: do your friends have your back or will they leave you bleeding in the snow? Project Winter is an 8-person multiplayer game of survival and social deception, where cooperation is essential, but betrayal is inevitable. . Stranded in the frozen wilderness, survivors must gather resources, repair objectives, and fight the elements to escape. But hidden among them are traitors working together to sabotage, mislead, and eliminate their so-called allies. . Project Winter 2.0: Cabin Fever introduces a faster, more streamlined experience that keeps the paranoia and chaos alive while making it easier than ever for new players to jump in. For seasoned players, the punishing Classic mode remains - demanding coordination, grit, and sharp instincts to survive. . No two matches are ever the same. Whether you’re chopping firewood with allies, whispering over secret radios as a traitor, or panicking when a sudden blizzard forces everyone together, the tension builds with every decision. . . . PROJECT WINTER ROLES . Survivor. As a survivor you will have to complete a series of objectives in order to call in one of several rescue vehicles and escape to win
By far the best social deception game out there. Extremely underrated in comparison to 'Among Us' and yet quite better. Prepare to betray your closest friends or complete strangers as you build fond trust with them in the struggles of the snow, only to end up driving a pickaxe into their forehead when they least expect it, watching them look at you with “Why? I trusted you” puppy eyes, bleeding out in the roar of a snowstorm. With every new swing at them, you feel like a horrible person (or let your inner psycopath shine brighter than ever) as you silence their final screams for help and drag their now inert body behind a rock, later telling everyone that “he probably got lost in the storm.” Many will accept the explanation, except for the sharp-eyed kid who voices his suspicions loudly — the kid is too smart; the kid has to go. BEAR IN MIND: The game might feel a tad complex and confusing only at first. But don't give in to the first impression! Play it for a little while and you will understand all mechanics quickly (especially now that the devs added a quickified and simplified 'Cabin Fever' gamemode to get the gist of the game). All confusion will turn into enjoyment, and you'll have a blast playing "mental 3D chess" with other experienced players or friends. Just keep in mind that you might come across newcomers who are thereby clueless and they might 'ruin' your strategies or thinking - be understanding (you were there at some point too when you first started). Four years later after its release and boom, it still receives constant updates and new content by a seriously loving and dedicated team of developers.
I've played this game a lot... like, a lot a lot since buying it around 6 weeks or so ago. It can be an absolute load of fun at times. Other times, you get to deal with trolls, leavers, racists, and people that are just setting out to ruin the game. Unfortunately, the admins and developers of this game are those same people. These admins are willing to ban your account (mind you, in a game that ENCOURAGES YOU TO BE SOCIAL AND DECEIVE) for next to nothing at all, while not even providing their users with a clear set of rules. When I asked the admin why I was banned, he said that I should check out the forums. Why should a player have to check the forums for such a thing? Why is there not in-game explanations of their rules, and why when violating those rules, are players NOT EVEN TOLD WHY. I've received no emails, no messages, no chat description of what happened --- simply banned. It isn't acceptable, especially in a game like this. In a recent patch, the devs implemented a system for players to upvote others that played well, were friendly, or "FOR ANY REASON YOU CHOOSE TO UPVOTE THEM". This has led to "FRIENDS", and groups people, instantly blasting through the "ranks" that are associated with one's behavior. Despite playing with 1 friend during about 1 hour of playing, I still ended up with max rank after less than a week or so. However, this has NO effect on them banning you, despite THEM suggesting it represents you being a good representative of the community. At this point, I'll be selling my in-game items on the marketplace and moving on. Words of advice to these devs: Transparency with your plans, your systems, and your choices is key... get better at this and I'll consider playing the game in the future when it is likely dead or free.
The report and rating system of the game is too strict. Just because you are a traitor and finished off the survivors doesn't mean you should get reported cuz they don't like you. Maybe consider a less strict rating system where reports will be taken in a more mature way, instead of just giving players thumbs down for playing and succeeding their roles.
