I'm so frustrated by this game because it's 2 steps away from being amazing

I'm so frustrated by this game because it's 2 steps away from being amazing. 1) No advanced or even basic elevator management. Devs are very against this for some reason (don't feel like coding pathing), but without it layout doesn't matter all that much and there's no building traffic management. Even basics such as express elevators that you can skip a floor or two are missing. 2) Wire management is for some reason preferred over elevator management. You'll need to lay 6 types of cables and pipes on every 1x1 grid of your building. Fun right!?

It could never be SimTower

It could never be SimTower... When you played that, you were sitting at a desk on the landing in the house your mother shared with her partner Simon. The computer was a beige box and you couldn't go on the internet while anyone was on the phone. The janky church bell and birdsong sound 'FX' when you started up the game were much louder from the left speaker than they were from the other, which no one ever managed, or really tried, to fix. You were stacking up condos for a quick cash injection even though you knew they'd all be sold back to you after a few days and would never be worth the same again - an introduction to short-term policy for your young brain. You'd name one of the silhouetted figures in your tower after each of your friends, but not before you'd picked yourself out as the young handsome chap living in prime position by the noisy elevator on floor 3. Floor 3, that is, because floor 2 is accounted for - you'd read in a PC Gamer magazine the previous Monday that you can create a double-height lobby on ground level by holding control as you place it. This doesn't serve any real purpose, but it's a point of pride at this stage because Simon's eldest son Nick laughed at you for thinking it was cool. What does he know, anyway? Though I suppose he is being kind enough to let you play his game. After a few sessions, you'll tire of the tower and move on to a demo from the disk stuck to the front of the magazine. Did you really think a modern game could take you back there? That said, it's basically SimTower

Like so many of the other negative reviews....I REALLY want to love this game

Like so many of the other negative reviews....I REALLY want to love this game. at its core, it is a great concept. it is so close to being an amazing successor to simtower, which we all want. but, in execution, its just not there. there are too many times where you're stuck waiting. I have found myself walking away from the game while it runs so many times. in the normal play, or scenarios, its always a matter of waiting for more money to come in. even in sandbox mode w/ unlimited funds, its a matter of waiting on the builders. it needs more elevator flexibility and management. and far less building wires and pipes. and an ability to either set a higher speed, or have more interaction while in early/mid game.
