Peglin plays like a combination of Peggle and Slay the Spire. The enemies are tough, and if you're defeated your run is over, but you've got powerful orbs with special effects and incredible relics that influence both your enemies and the physics you'll use to defeat them.. . Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks
Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. The Cozy, RPG, Strategy mix is what kept me playing; Peglin knows what it wants to be. It helps that the premise (Peglin is a Pachinko Roguelike - Fight enemies by collecting special orbs and) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. There is more content here than the price suggests. I will be back for another run.

It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. The Cozy, RPG, Strategy mix is what kept me playing; Peglin knows what it wants to be. It helps that the premise (Peglin is a Pachinko Roguelike - Fight enemies by collecting special orbs and) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
