Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. Path of Exile 2 wears its RPG, Action, Multiplayer influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — Hardcore ARPG depth with a brutal, brilliant skill tree. — is delivered without too much filler. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. If RPG, Action, Multiplayer is your thing, Path of Exile 2 delivers it without much filler. It helps that the premise (Hardcore ARPG depth with a brutal, brilliant skill tree.) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. Path of Exile 2 leans hard into RPG, Action, Multiplayer, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. It helps that the premise (Hardcore ARPG depth with a brutal, brilliant skill tree.) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
