A friend recommended it and I owe them one
A friend recommended it and I owe them one. Monster Sanctuary leans hard into Action, Adventure, RPG, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. On paper it is Monster taming meets metroidvania. Collect, train and battle monsters in a, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. There is more content here than the price suggests. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.

This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday
This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. Monster Sanctuary wears its Action, Adventure, RPG influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — Monster taming meets metroidvania. Collect, train and battle monsters in a — is delivered without too much filler. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Easy recommend at full price.

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks
Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. Monster Sanctuary wears its Action, Adventure, RPG influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. On paper it is Monster taming meets metroidvania. Collect, train and battle monsters in a, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. Easy recommend at full price.
