There is a good game buried in here somewhere. The Adventure, Cozy, Racing side of Mon Bazou is fine on paper, but the execution felt thin after the first few hours. The idea (Build your crappy vehicle into a race car, install the parts yourself. Make) is there, but the execution never catches up to it. Performance was acceptable, though the loop repeats itself well before the credits. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. Wait for a deep sale.

It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. The Adventure, Cozy, Racing mix is what kept me playing; Mon Bazou knows what it wants to be. It helps that the premise (Build your crappy vehicle into a race car, install the parts yourself. Make) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. Easy recommend at full price.
