This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. Left 4 Dead 2 wears its Co-op, Action, Multiplayer influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. On paper it is The co-op zombie classic that never died., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. Left 4 Dead 2 wears its Co-op, Action, Multiplayer influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. On paper it is The co-op zombie classic that never died., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. Easy recommend at full price.
