It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. If Action, Cozy, MMO is your thing, King of Crabs delivers it without much filler. On paper it is Battle Royale with crabs! Intense multiplayer action, with up to 100 players!, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Worth it, especially on sale.

There is a good game buried in here somewhere
There is a good game buried in here somewhere. Fans of Action, Cozy, MMO will recognise the pieces, though King of Crabs never quite assembles them. What it promises (Battle Royale with crabs! Intense multiplayer action, with up to 100 players!) is more interesting than what it actually does moment to moment. The pacing sags in the middle third and never fully recovers. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. Wait for a deep sale.

I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. The Action, Cozy, MMO mix is what kept me playing; King of Crabs knows what it wants to be. On paper it is Battle Royale with crabs! Intense multiplayer action, with up to 100 players!, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
