Opposing Force takes the best bits of the original Half-Life and mixes them into a small package
Opposing Force takes the best bits of the original Half-Life and mixes them into a small package. Think of it as just more Half-Life. You play through the Black Mesa incident from a new perspective, encounter a couple of new enemies, and enjoy new weapons and firepower. This expansion is simply fun to play and highly recommended...something I cannot say about Half-Life: Blue Shift.

Better than expected
Half life opposing force is in my opinion better than the base game, one of my main complaints of base half life is the navigation and opposing force does navigation much better than the first game, while i can remember getting lost dozens upon dozens of times in half life, in opposing force i only got lost much less. the gunplay in opposing force is arguably better but i think both games have their strengths and weaknesses. in summary opposing force is an excellent half life game and well worth a shot

This was a great expansion
This was a great expansion. I highly recommend for those who enjoyed the main game. It is basically Half Life from a different perspective with some different weapons and enemies. Going through Black Mesa again was very satisfying. Half Life had a few annoying sections, but I think this only brought improvements. Give this a shot, but make sure you do the boot camp first so you know what to do.
