Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. Frostpunk 2 leans hard into City Builder, Strategy, Story, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. On paper it is Society survival at city scale, morally freezing., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Worth it, especially on sale.

Picked this up on a whim and ended up playing it every evening for two weeks. Frostpunk 2 wears its City Builder, Strategy, Story influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. The pitch — Society survival at city scale, morally freezing. — is delivered without too much filler. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
