I fought fire for 15 years

I fought fire for 15 years. I own and play most firefighting "sims". This game lacks in areas others have and vice versa. I already noticed there is no extrication equipment for traffic accident scenes. Attaching a hose to a hydrant is missing getting a hydrant wrench and turning on the hydrant, although mundane, it adds to the immersion for myself. The game is pretty fluid but somewhat simplistic as "simulating" what a fire fighter can do and the tools they use. No SCBA (oxygen tank) air management is also lacking. It does have mild smoke venting techniques, disappointed that the K12 (circular saw) is only used to cut locks rather than venting a hole in the roof. Was mildly surprised to see backdraft situations. Add in flash overs and that would be the cherry on top for a nice little package of fire behavior. All in all the game is mostly entertaining for a retired firefighter but I expected more immersion I guess. Also (I may have missed it) but a first person view with the sounds of being in an scba mask would have been very good to have. Being to don and donning and doffing the scba would also have been nice, but I guess that would go hand in hand with air management. No performance issues as of yet running everything maxed out. Hopefully the game is added to in the future. Seems fun to play but a bit lacking to be touted as a "simulator" in my opinion, but headed in the right direction. The graphics are a bit lacking, no attention to detail in emergency vehicle lights, etc. Would like to see more pumper truck variety, got alot of Heavy rescue type trucks and no extrication equipment besides the K12. A bit strange. Think it needs more pumper truck variety.

As a firefighter IRL I can say this game is pretty well done

As a firefighter IRL I can say this game is pretty well done. There are a few idiosycrasies I'd like to see changed, but this game can only go up from here! Well done and thank you for finally making a good firefighter sim game. Suggestions: - Add the ability to vent the roof, which removes heat and smoke and allows better visibility. - It shouldn't take three (3) 1 3/4" hoselines to fight your average residential house fire. Two at most should take care of most everything. - American fire apparatus should have a "Federal Q" siren. Make it happen. It's a thing. - Improve the AI to ask for tasks once their tasks are complete. - It's not a "unit" it's an "engine" a "rescue" or a "truck." Change that. - You should add in an Battalion Chief to be incident command and be giving orders over the radio instead of the dispatcher. Like I said, a lot of minor things, but so far the game is great! My buddies from the station and I will likely be playing on Twitch this weekend together to see how well we do in-game versus in real life.
