This game is 20-years old
This game is 20-years old. I cannot believe how lazy the mission scripting is. It's literally, "shoot the thing, loot the thing." Except looting the thing takes a lot of time and usually it's junk so you shouldn't bother looting the thing. X-Wing and TIE Fighter had tight scripting even before EVE Online, so what's the issue? Can the devs not play those games and identify mechanics like disabling ships and boarding them? Having allied NPCs? Because I played plenty of missions where I had to capture the captain of a ship, and that always involved blowing up the ship and having said captain magically teleported into my hold. Zzz... I played this game when it came out. I was in Razor Alliance when we killed BoB. The PvP is boring: mash F1, wait for Python server to wake up, repeat. The first experience all players will have is the PvE experience. Supposidely there are new game mechanics: hacking (basically Windows 98 Minesweeper), probing (very, very dull), and some new encounters. But as a new player, you're guided into missions. And they are still the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, unscripted, boring, nonsense from 2006. There's "Epic" missions, and the only thing epic about them is the time required to finish them. The only reward is money. No loot. As a new player it's utter boredom for the first week, and that's enough of my time to waste on a game. Thank you and good bye, EVE Online devs. As someone who works in software I cannot imagine being so lazy as to leave this thing a turd after 20-years of work. It's ok, I'm sure your co-workers who lost their jobs didn't like working. Don't take any personal responsibility over your product.

Not the game for me
bad game design good looks but heavy P2W with people that have multiple accounts and multibox because its a thing that allowed so if you want a fight with some one good luck its never fair and ull have no hopes in even competing as a new player

I instantly fell in love with this game and for some hours I had a great time
I instantly fell in love with this game and for some hours I had a great time. I was about to make it my primary game, my longlasting hobby, untill... ... until I found out about multiboxing. After that I stopped playing and everytime I stumble upon EVE I always remember the cold knive of greed, cutting through my heart of love of a fantastic game, ruined by the most treacherous P2W design I've ever encountered.
