This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. The RPG, Action, Multiplayer mix is what kept me playing; Diablo IV knows what it wants to be. On paper it is The ARPG mainline, darker and more open than ever., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.

It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. The RPG, Action, Multiplayer mix is what kept me playing; Diablo IV knows what it wants to be. It helps that the premise (The ARPG mainline, darker and more open than ever.) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Worth it, especially on sale.
