I used to play DCUO heavily back in the Episode 34-39 period, and I left because man the game was a slog
I used to play DCUO heavily back in the Episode 34-39 period, and I left because man the game was a slog. Now I'm coming back because I just need a Superhero Itch that other games just can't scratch. Hours played on Steam don't reflect total hours played, which I did for hundreds of hours through the Daybreak Portal and not Steam. DCUO has actually improved significantly since I last played, and frankly the upgrades are very pleasant. The QoL for players is improved, but it isn't a completely foreign system. Visual updates are nice, albeit all the characters still do the same old "hand waving" motions in dialogue. However, it's voiced so I can forgive a lot when the voice acting is decent. Frankly, it's been well cared for by the new team as far as I can tell. Certainly better than whatever was going on when the wrote Long Live The Legion. The game runs smoothly, and I enjoy having a little more loadout love with two action bars to use instead of the same 6 powers over and over. Playing DCUO in 2026 seemed like it would never be a thing I would do, but I'm here at least for a little while enjoying that sweet Superhero Fantasy again. This time without the toxic Twitch Streaming community drama I got sucked into the first time. **EDIT 10/16/26** They recently added back the ability to do old content Unclamped!!! Now you can easily go back and get early Solo Feats you may have missed, and probably get some easy Duos as well. Definitely going to open up a lot of opportunities for players to get Feats and up their Skill Points!

you only get 6 power sets to choose
you only get 6 power sets to choose. even in the list there is more enticing powers in the paywalled list of powers. i wanted to be like static shock but its a paywalled power. why not have paid cosmetics instead? this is just killling my character creation. i dont want to be a healer through magic or plants only dude.

Frustrating more than fun
I mean if you want to put 3 days into 1 stabilizer during a boost be my guest it is free but personally I'm tired of 300 different buyable currencies to get cool looking stuff that you'd otherwise be putting months into getting but you could always drop the 20+ on the subscription
