One of my best buys this year
Dark souls 2 is like being married to a woman who is attractive and charming and funny and intelligent, and you are soulmates and everything is perfect, right? She is the perfect woman, you could not ask for a more better woman in the world. you love her, and she loves you. Only she has one flaw, Every 5 minute, she punches you in the face... For no reason, she just punches you in the face every 5 minutes. Even at night you wake up, She punches you in the face, you recover, get 4 minutes 38 seconds of sleep, then she punches you in the face again, and you love her.

FINAL UPDATE: May 27, 2015 WARNING: A new "HD version" of this game titled Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin has been released. It is an entirely separate game and includes all DLC content. Most importantly, this "old" version (released May, 2014) DOES NOT update to the new version, which is sold separately. Exclusive to the new version are re-mastered encounters, additional multiplayer slots, new invasion NPC with new items, improved enemy AI, and graphical updates not available in this "old" version of the game. Furthermore, the two versions of the game are NOT compatible with each-other for online play, nor are saves transferable between games. A recent patch to prepare for the new re-release added changes to soul memory, a couple new items, and other tweaks to the "old" version of the game. The patch does not and will not contain the exclusive enhancements of the new version. If you want the exclusive content listed above, you will need to purchase the new version of the game. Therefore, it is my recommendation you avoid purchasing this "old" version for PC, as the new version is currently available. I also strongly encourage you to scrutinize the business practices exercised by the developer and publisher of this game; we are being sold the same game again with minor, though desirable improvements.

Still thinking about it
10 years ago I got invaded by a hacker named "I'll Kill the Blacksmith" while in the safe area of Majula where combat is normally impossible on my very first run of the game. He proceeded to kill the blacksmith then left. I think about this atleast once a month. 10/10 great game even without a blacksmith.
