Better than expected
After playing this game a total of almost 50 hours (a lot of it during early access) the game has earned itself a review. Pros: -Every playthrough is different because there is a lot of content of which you will only encounter about 10-20% each playthrough. That includes: -Explorers (your character) and their starting items -maptypes: desert, jungle, arctic, etc. -items (weapons, utility items, etc.) -followers with different abilitys -playstyles (mostly tied to explorers and their followers - quiet a lot of strategies are possible however I found some of them much easier than others) -Art and music are nice and atmospheric -A lot of love went into the making of this game and you can feel that Cons: -Maps can be pretty unforgiving at times if you are unlucky -If one expedition goes bad your setup for the next one might also be bad and so on -you can only have one playthrough at a time (like in FTL) - makes sense to avoid save scumming but it would be nice to return to your old heros sometimes The game isn't only about exploring, but also about picking your way of doing it, finding rare items and followers, discovering mysterys and carefull planning. Most disasters can be avoided by preparing yourself well and thinking ahead.

During Expedition 1
During Expedition 1. I found a egg. I planned to sell it, but then it hatched into a beautiful baby tortoise. Then I planned to give it to the museum, but then it grew into a giant tortoise and became my closest companion. His name was Mr. Waynes, I'd do anything to protect Mr.Waynes, so I kept my sanity up as much as possible. But then on expedition 5, there was no place to rest and I couldn't pay for a night to rest. So my partner stole my stuff and left me, I ate my donkey. And JUST as I got to the golden pyramid, I ate Mr. Waynes. *Cri so hard* 10/10 This game has potential.
