MAXIMUM CARNAGE! Crysis 2 is the next installment in the Crysis series. You take control of Alcatraz, a normal marine that dons Prophets Nanosuit due to unfortunate circumstances. Fight your way through New York as you learn about the events that transpired after the first game and how they affected the world. Crysis 1 was years ahead during it's release. The graphics, physics and sound were just jaw dropping. Unfortunately, Crysis 2 did not deliver that same feeling. While overall the graphics look better, you can argue that this game was held back. The fantastic physics seen in the first game are nowhere to be seen in Crysis 2. Cover can be damaged but not freely destroyed. However, Crysis 2 exceled in the gameplay aspect. It delivered a much cleaner gameplay experience that the first one lacked. Fighting aliens with plenty of ammo and big guns didn't get old. BE WARNED, the multiplayer is fully dead. It delivered a Call Of Duty twist to the game with perks and killstreaks but unfortunately, the severs are no more. I recommend waiting for at least a 50% sale for Crysis 2 seeing that multuplayer is no more. Crytek was able to add an enjoyable experience for fans of the series but they took 2 steps back with this game. Maximize yourself and smash through the Aliens in the crumbling Big Apple.
So basically you are going to buy a special edition that gives you more multiplayer items that are going to be useless soon since Multiplayer is soon shutting down on it... Nice.... Edit: They even still advertise the maximum edition having all sorts of multiplayer exclusives WHILE IT'S SHUT DOWN.
Way to ♥♥♥♥ up your sequel Crytek. Honestly, I blame EA more for it but still. The original Crysis had complex sandbox missions with multiple approaches and secondary objectives and plenty of bad ass suit powers. Crysis had an enjoyable cast of characters that I actually cared about. Crysis had varied vehicles, all of which were drive/flyable, Crysis had BLUE aliens that froze things. Crysis had a unique blend of strategic, tactical, intense, fun combat. Crysis had an original and interesting multiplayer. This is not Crysis. This is Call of Halofield 7: Future Warfare. They traded in EVERY SINGLE THING that made the first game great. Whether it's the linear as all hell story missions, the characters that were one-dimensional, cliche and predictable to the end, the dumbed-down nanosuit that somehow manages to feel less powerful than the marines you fight with, the HORRENDOUS checkpoint system, the aliens that are the exact opposite of the first game's, the lack of Psycho's presence, the removal of the ability to carry two primary weapons AND pistols AND use your fists (in fact, fists are completely gone), you can only use humvees/APCs instead of, oh, I don't know, TANKS and VTOLS and HELICOPTERS and other awesome ♥♥♥♥, the bland/generic EVERYTHING, the multiplayer that is a complete rip-off of Call of Duty (and is now full of hackers that nobody does anything about), the list goes on. Anyways, the point is DON'T BUY THIS GAME. It is an insult to the original and in fact an insult to games in general.
