This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. If Shooter, Action, Multiplayer is your thing, Counter-Strike 2 delivers it without much filler. It helps that the premise (The tactical shooter standard, rebuilt on Source 2.) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. Easy recommend at full price.

A friend recommended it and I owe them one. The Shooter, Action, Multiplayer mix is what kept me playing; Counter-Strike 2 knows what it wants to be. It helps that the premise (The tactical shooter standard, rebuilt on Source 2.) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. There is more content here than the price suggests. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
