Anomaly: Warzone Earth is an extraordinary mixture of action and strategy in a reversed tower defense formula. The game tasks you with saving a near-future Earth from an alien onslaught. Anomaly Warzone Earth is a fantastic tower offensive game. Unlike in tower defense games, here you lead an offensive against preset towers. Various units offers you huge variation for your offensive, you can also set routes for your offensive army. The combinations of these offers a lot of strategical combinations for finishing maps. The story of the game is the following: Aliens invaded Baghdad and Tokyo. Your task, as commander, to lead your forces through these cities and destroy the aliens, their spaceship, rescure survivors and scientists and reorganize local units to strengthen your team. The graphic is pretty decent for a tower defense game, its atmosphere just pulls you in as you play the game. If you like the genre this a must to play. As your Average Achievement Hunter ill share some informations about the achievements: 42 steam achievements and i must say this game is quite hard to perfect. While half of the achievements pretty easy, others require special focus. Many achievements asks you to finish map in a special way like not taking same path twice, killing all enemy towers, beat a tight timer etc. Also, for perfection you need master advanced difficulty aswell. Gold medals awarded for special way you finish the missions: shortest way, kills, i believe there are 3 variuos things but i played the game quite while ago. You dont need earn all gold medals in a single play so you can farm them each seperatly. You also need get all gold medals for 100%. Levels replayable so you can get missed medals, achievements easily. If you plan to perfect this game you can expect a real challenge! Time to 100%: 30h or much more

Anomaly: Warzone Earth is a reverse tower-defense strategy game, the first of the series. The gameplay of Anomaly: Warzone Earth is very simple, yet needs lots of attention. You command your forces to destroy the enemy tower machine in your way. You will need to pick the best units combination then choose the best route for your troops to attack the enemy and then complete your objectives, but you can't just let your units attack alone like a rambo, your units are not in unlimited supply, you need to look after them. You can use some ability to help your troops destroy the enemy and survive the mission, like repair damaged units or call in airstrikes. Without these ability, your troops will surely get killed and you will fail, so keep an eye on them. The graphics of Anomaly: Warzone Earth is beautiful, not so advanced, but very pleasing on the eye, perfectly crafted. From the UI to the battlefield, they're all good. This also comes with great performances. This is one of the best tower-defense game I ever played. I recommend this! Rating 9/10

Interesting variety of tower defense genre
Interesting variety of tower defense genre. You're in control of "invading" units in pre-built maps. At the beginning of each stage, you select your squad based on money you have. You can set/change route of your squad any time you want, change their formation, upgrade their abilities, sell/buy units during mission. You'll have different goals like getting to the end point, destroying some towers along the route, escorting safely some unit to the end, etc. Enemy towers doesn't respawn (in most levels), nor upgrade, so you can plan your strategy ahead. Besides your squad "on rails", you control the commander - unit which can freely roam the field. His mission is to provide help to your squad with healing, diversions and air strike. He can also be killed, but he respawns after several seconds, unlike other units. Commander is equally important as your other units, so you must learn to use him wisely. Once you get familiar with game mechanics, you can finish this game with almost same unit formation every time on any difficulty, but nevertheless, game is addictive and very fun to play. I highly recommend playing in combination with steam achievements which adds interesting tasks to do during missions (which also makes the game more difficult). Overall, if you like tower defense games, you probably won't regret getting this game.
