A friend recommended it and I owe them one. ALTF4 leans hard into Action, Adventure, Multiplayer, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. The pitch — [3D 3rd Person Perma-Death Runner Game]Try to overcome various obstacles until — is delivered without too much filler. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. ALTF4 leans hard into Action, Adventure, Multiplayer, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. It helps that the premise ([3D 3rd Person Perma-Death Runner Game]Try to overcome various obstacles until) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
