I'm just here to do what I should've a while ago

I'm just here to do what I should've a while ago. I have 3K hours on soulstorm, and this series of games is the greatest simple RTS ever made. Hopefully the 4th game will shake the curse of the 3rd, it'll be really funny if Total War 40K will be the only 40K strategy game worth playing. This game is great and one of the titles I recommend everyone give a try. I hope DoW4 isn't ♥♥♥♥.

Easy recommendation

This game, destroyed a friendship of mine, because he couldnt handle being dog-walked on 1rst install, even though we have the same game-knowledge of this game. Dude, gave up half-way through a match, stopped trying, and did nothing but complain about "How dare I buy him an OLD GAME". Its been a week of him avoiding me entirely at this point. Signed out of Discord, and refuses to respond to anything on Steam. And it all started because I gifted him this game, that I wanted to try with people I actually know. Might as well add this to your list of "Games that ruin friendships" 10/10 would use this to route the heretics from my life more frequently

I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge RTS guy, despite owning quite a few games

I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge RTS guy, despite owning quite a few games. I played Supreme Commander with friends which convinced me I was, and I had a lot of fun with that, but so many have just been tests against my skill with little satisfaction. This… this is different. I couldn’t believe how drawn in I was and even played each expansion right after another. It being more than just a realistic military game that enacts past or theoretical battles certainly helps but it is also just well designed and has an active and forefront story through out giving you character interactions, animations, and even sometimes a cinematic or two. A lot of the maps and factions are well designed, fun lore, and battles aren’t overly difficult. I wasn’t too familiar with 40k so I don’t know the whole picture of the lore and faction history, but this provides you just enough through it’s narrative to let you understand the general situation and the idea behind each faction. Factions are a bit limited to just the 4. Space Marines, Orks, Chaos, and Eldar, but later expansions will include more. Tragically, the story only has you play as the Space Marines so outside of facing them, you won’t have a good idea of how to actually play the other factions. Still, the story does benefit from the focus on a singular factions and there is some pretty solid voicework to really drive it home. ||”Sindri!!” “WHAT!? …my lord”|| Honestly, just a great introduction for the game series and potentially a gateway drug for the IP as a whole. I never plan on playing the tabletop but this series so far has gotten me to look at the mini figures. Faction of Choice: Space Marines
