This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. This War of Mine leans hard into Survival, Story, Pixel, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. On paper it is War from the civilian side, and it hurts., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. I will be back for another run.
