***FIX TO RUN WIN10** First, create a text file on your desktop. Copy this into it: taskkill /f /im Steam.exe start /affinity FF C:\"Program Files (x86)"\Steam\steam.exe Now, CRTL+S, and save it not as a .txt file, but as a .bat file. So type like, protoype2.bat and change filetype to all files. Save it. Next, the game itself is LOCKED to 1080p. So, you need to go into Steam, select properties for the game, and type in: resolution 2560x1440@165 (use your resolution and refresh rate). Now one more thing, there's a point where the game is bugged during like the second mission, game breaking. They ask you to claw pounce a blackwatch officer, and it wont work UNLESS, you turn off v-sync and limit FPS to 30. Then beat that part of the mission, and you can go back to Vsync + whatever FPS. Done. Just saved you 4 hours of googling. Enjoy.

Hard to put down
If anybody is having trouble running this great game and/or having other issues while running it, like many others. Just go here (nexusmods.com/prototype2/mods/42) download these files and insert into your game folder. After many tries to get this game to work I had tried this one last solution and it finally fixed it! Steam will probably give you the "malicious link" warning but if you know what Nexus mods is then you know it's not going to hurt your pc in any way

This game will not run on modern hardware
This game will not run on modern hardware. In order to play this game you require a fix/mod from nexusmods called: "Prototype2Fix - CrashFix - FPSFix - FrameDouble fix" Frankly I think the mod creator should be getting your money, not the people leaving a broken game up forgotten on steam with a franchise they've let disappear. However, this is a very fun game. The story is campy as hell, but there are not a lot of games which really do the feel of what this is. If you like things like the Zerg, the Beast from Homeworld Cataclysm/Emergence, the creature from The Thing, the creature from Carrion, or any of those biological entity monsters like that... there aren't a ton of games which really capture that feel. This one does it, and wraps it in an overpowered protagonist. If this genre wasn't barren I'd probably give it a thumbs down just due to the game being literally broken without a player made fix. However, this genre is one I love and with the fix it runs just fine.
