This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. Hogwarts Legacy leans hard into RPG, Adventure, Open World, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. On paper it is The Harry Potter open world, spells and all., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. Checkpoints are frequent enough that a bad run never feels punishing. Worth it, especially on sale.

A friend recommended it and I owe them one. If RPG, Adventure, Open World is your thing, Hogwarts Legacy delivers it without much filler. The pitch — The Harry Potter open world, spells and all. — is delivered without too much filler. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. Worth it, especially on sale.
