A little Bladerunner

A little Bladerunner. A little 1984. A little 5th Element. A lot of vaporwave, weirdos and bbeautiful neon cityscapes. I've been wanting to write a review for this game since the 2 hour mark, but nothing I conjured up seemed to do it justice. It done got me. I dun got hooked. No combat at all. No skills. No character stat screen. Just you, a dog and your HOVA... and maybe some coffee. I can see what some other reviewers are saying with the on-foot portions feeling..... mundane? If this doesn't hook you, it won't do anything for ya. The flying part will feel cool. The cityscape will awe you. The collectibles, side quests and all that other stuff may feel dull. BUT, if it does hook you, it will hook you 100%. If you are like me, and just LOVE this kind of atmosphere, and can appreciate the brilliant thought put into the dialog, characters (NPCs) and concept of this game, you'll love it! I'm probably not making much sense. But TL;DR - I highly recommend this game! If I could give two thumbs up, I would. If I could rate this on the Undernet and Pubnet, I would. Anyhoo, got some deliveries to go deliver! PS: use 1st person in vehicle, and unlock the camera!

Cloudpunk lives or dies on it's story, it's characters and the world it builds around you

Cloudpunk lives or dies on it's story, it's characters and the world it builds around you. The gameplay is, minimal to the point of being barely present and easily removable; but this works for me. The driving (flying?) works nicely, it's intuitive and easy enough. But where it really shines is the stories it tells: the people you meet, the folk you help or don't, the choices you make and the consequences they have. And this, for me, is easily enough to compensate for the core gameplay loop being as simplistic as it is.
