FREE BUSINESS ADVICE FOR THE DEVS!! - Thumbs Up so they can see it!! I love Catan! My friends and I play it all the time in the board game version. I started playing Catan Universe (CU) when it was open beta, and I had a great time playing it. In the open beta, you could play all the expansions for free, and the customization was incredible. You could get all kinds of wardrobe changes, all types of backpack accessories, and so much more. It is a great game! But not how it is in the current form. The micro transactions make the game virtually unplayable. Also, the "Free to Play" Label is false advertising. The Free to Play version is literally the starting game, (Also called "The First Island" in the board game instructions). What they SHOULD do: - Make the board game free to play for everyone. Not just the first island, but the whole starter set. Allow anyone to play the original game where the number tiles get mixed and matched everywhere. That way, you get the players invested in the game, which makes them play longer. - Then, charge for the expansions. When they are addicted to the orignial game, they will happily put cash upfront for the expansions (I know I would). Seafarers and Cities and Knights are such great games! Way better and more engaging than the original. You would get the entire player-base paying $5 for the expansions, easily. And, the player-base is pretty big. ($5 x 2(both expansions) x player-base ( low-ball estimate 100,000)) = 1million easy. Take this business model, yo'. Blizzard does it with Heartstone, and they're making a killing. Free business strategy. You're welcome.

I bought this game to build roads and trade sheep
I bought this game to build roads and trade sheep. Instead, I built regret and traded my joy for silence. I wanted to play with one friend. Simple. Pure. But the game demanded a third. An AI. We let it in. It never moved. It sat frozen, eyes glazed, turn unspoken. No clock. No mercy. No escape. We waited, hopeful at first, then confused, then still. It never played. And neither did we. The board became a tomb. Our laughter faded. Our patience died. This wasn’t a game. It was a eulogy. And around it all, the stench of monetization. Menus offering pieces of joy in overpriced fragments. A classic game, broken and gutted for spare parts. I wanted to settle. But I was the one conquered.

Wait for a sale
Usually people download this because they played the Table Top version so here are a couple of things you need to know : 1- its not actually "free" you can play twice a day in single player mode and the multiplier mode has only one "map" unless you pay 2- there isnt much of a "guild" and stuff like that, the current in-game guilds are kinda dead 3- its actually quite decent if you wanna play it for a couple of hour and uninstall 4- there is cross-play, but the mobile versions are not that easy to work with (its like they just exported the windows build of the game for mobile) 5- (well its just facts at this point) There is an achivement for reaching lvl20 in the game ... 8.5% of players got it ... so ... yeah ... if you read this review so far you might as well drop a like so others would also see it before they download it
