This version is known to have tons of issues; one being crashes on most of the systems (not just a few)
This version is known to have tons of issues; one being crashes on most of the systems (not just a few). It is widely known and there are tons of documented reports on where it happens. With such amount of detailed reports, instead of fixing that, the developers decided to add a third-party launcher that no one ever has asked for.

Excellent game that improves and expands on what made Bioshock 1 great
Excellent game that improves and expands on what made Bioshock 1 great. A common crash is caused by the game not having enough VRAM allocated to it. This can be easily resolved by going to ...\AppData\Roaming\BioshockHD\Bioshock2 and increasing the value of TextureStreamingMemoryLimit in Bioshock2SP.ini. I set it to 2048 and haven't crashed since. Also make sure never to save on exit; always do so manually to avoid corrupting saves.
