I am old, like "I remember a time before FPS's existed" old
I am old, like "I remember a time before FPS's existed" old. The older I get the more I can fool myself into thinking that I'm bad at modern shooters with their cover mechanics and regenerating Hit Points, but that I am a god of old-school, "proper" shooters like we had when I was young. Turns out that this was wrong, Amid Evil showed me that I just generally suck at video games. Thank you for removing the nostalgia-based cobwebs from my eyes, and for teaching an old man that though he has not always been old, he has always sucked at shooting things.

Retro FPS but you are a mage/warrior so your weapons are magic staves and weird thingies. Also a big axe. It does remind a bit of Hexen/Heretic for this reason. It's right on point in terms of old school FPS, except the level design is much better than it used to be in the 90s. The game looks good, even if it's quite funky in style (Colours, enemies, level design). The final level is quite memorable even. The weapons are great, and have different use depending on the situation/enemies. And you got a sort of rage meter that make them much more powerful and how they act. The movement is also right on point. Good speed, good jump, no ADS. Classic FPS. Overall, a very well done Retro FPS. If you played Quake/Doom/etc, you know what to expect.

Thanks, civvie. Update: Completed the game on the RTX branch on medium difficulty, and it is truly a fantastic game. Some beautiful art/sound combinations. Fantastic music. Buy it!
