Raft is ocean survival on a floating base — hook debris, expand the deck, and sail between islands with a shark on patrol.
This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. Raft wears its Survival, Co-op, Adventure influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. It helps that the premise (Build a floating home while a shark renegotiates the terms.) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. I will be back for another run.
This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. Raft leans hard into Survival, Co-op, Adventure, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. On paper it is Build a floating home while a shark renegotiates the terms., and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Worth it, especially on sale.
