It's a great game
It's a great game. Not sure exactly what the HD remaster brought to the table since the game feels and looks exactly like I remember it 15+ years ago, or whenever it came out. If you miss the game then it's probably worth buying. Cons: Atlantians: OP Norse: OP Ranked: Only works in quickmatch mode now. You can't host a game and set it to ranked anymore. This kind of sucks because some races are better than others at certain maps and in quickmatch the maps are randomized. Also you could have a 1600 rating and get paired against someone who's rating is like 348232321434332. You will get wrecked a lot. When you queue for ranked youre either going to get paired against someone incredible or someone terrible. This is because there are very few active players and things are pretty much split into three categories: "Veterines" (who will wreck you), "noobs" who are just happy to be playing a game that their gateway or macbook can can actually manage to run on integrated graphics, and "veterine noobs" who used to play the game when they were kids but used cheat codes and never got good. Me? I'm somewhere in the middle. Also people will pause the game in ranked, expecting you to back out of the game out of frustration once you give up trying to figure out how to unpause it. Here's a tip: just hit the pause button on your keyboard. You need to know that to play ranked.
