About Age of Darkness: Final Stand

. Build, Gather and Fight in a Desperate Last Stand Against an Onslaught of Never Ending Evil!. . The darkness is an entity of evil. Some say it is the manifestation of human fear and nightmares, others say it is a wandering mass of damned souls haunting us. The origin of the darkness itself is unknown, but one thing for certain is that we can keep it at bay through the power of light and fire.. The complete, full release of Age of Darkness: Final Stand is available now and includes Co-operative Multiplayer, Campaign, and Survival modes.. . Brace yourself against huge tidal waves of Nightmares. Leveraging an internally developed technology called ‘SwarmTech’ allows the game to render over 70,000 enemy units on the screen at one time. These enemy legions claw their way up through seething fissures in the earth to reinforce ‘The Veil’. . . . . Light up a rich, complex, procedurally generated map to claim territory back from ‘The Veil’. A dynamic living death fog that conceals enemies and drains life from your troops. Holding the line against this terror is not for the faint of heart. . . . . Borrowing from the the roguelite genre, Malices are random afflictions placed on the player

Don't Buy !

Don't Buy ! The dropped the support of the game after version 1.0. There are still a lot of bugs and annoying errors in the game. Quote from discord "Age of Darkness is no longer in active development and major updates will not occur for the foreseeable future."

This game has been abandoned by the devs, leaving behind a diamond that couldve shined bright as day

This game has been abandoned by the devs, leaving behind a diamond that couldve shined bright as day. As it stands now, its an unfinished game with more bugs than I could report. On top of that the people in charge showed very poor leadership and communication skills, which led to their community (rightfully) turning against them in what felt like a massive let-down. As it stands now, I sadly can no longer support this game or the devs of PlaySide, and thats a sentiment Im not alone with. If youre still contemplating whether its a playable game for you feel free to add me, Im more than willing to talk! But as it stands I would not recommend anyone to buy this game for more than 10€.

I came here to write a review because the whole “abandonware” chorus around this game is honestly ridiculous

I came here to write a review because the whole “abandonware” chorus around this game is honestly ridiculous. People seem to have a very unrealistic idea of what “game development” is supposed to look like. This game is complete. Finished. Done. Could more be added? Sure — more can always be added to any game. That’s not the same thing as being unfinished. Multiplayer works perfectly fine and isn’t buggy. If you’re having issues, it’s probably something on your end — this game uses peer-to-peer connections and doesn’t rely on dedicated servers. At launch there were a few hiccups, yes, but they were patched long ago. I play regularly in co-op from the east coast of the US (In Canada) with someone on the west coast of the US — zero problems other than the occasional, very brief pause. Everything that was promised on the roadmap was released. The only area that could use some extra love is the campaign, but it’s there, and it works. For those born after 2000, let me remind you: games used to come on discs. Once released, that was it. If you were lucky, you got a small downloadable patch later on — not an endless stream of post-release updates to babysit your attention span. Would I like to see more content someday, maybe even some DLC? Of course. But as it stands, the game is fun, finished, and absolutely playable. It’s not worth full price — but it goes on sale often, and at that price, it’s a great buy. If you want to see what an abandoned game looks like - go look at 'Towns'.
